In Feb 2017 my husband and I travelled with 2 friends and Ravi to Kenya for a tailor made 9 day safari which had been arranged by Ravi and his team at Magic Carpet. He prepared the itinerary but was open to any suggestions, and I was cheeky enough to request to stay at Treetops instead of The Ark. Other than that we stayed in lodges from the Sarova chain and they were outstanding. Our driver and guide was great fun and we saw the big eight plus much more. I highly recommend you do a safari and I highly recommend you use Ravi and his team to book a once in a lifetime experience. I would love to do it all again, and if we ever do, I will take our children and use Magic Carpets without question.

I travelled with Magicarpet to Kenya a few years back and it was one of the best trips I have had. The week I spent in the jungles of Masai Mara, Nakuru and other parks was an experience in itself. The tour was very well planned and every little detail was looked into right from the time they picked us up from the airport and dropped us back after a week. The places where we stayed were brilliant and the food was simply amazing. Ravi’s team is highly experienced and they made sure we were very comfortable all through the tour. I still remember the awesome dinner we had under the skies with the local music and dancing! I wish to go back again someday, God willing!!

It was Nov 2016 and we three brothers decided to get away for some,"Us" time to the terrain of Masai Mara. Magicarpet, literally transported us to the wild life environs, like a magic wand.
That week was a memorable experience, with excellent sightings and sightseeing in a heady blend of excitement and thrill.

Ravi Hebballi is a professional photographer specializing in wildlife and the person behind "MAGICARPET" a travel company floated by him.
I have been fortunate to have enrolled in one of his workshop and traveled with him to the Masai Mara in November 2016, the Demonstration year which I cannot forget.
He clearly exceeded my expectations. Not only does he understand the ins and outs of photography, he has a very good handle on explaining and demonstrating his craft, is a pleasant person to be around and easy to work with.
The Masai Mara,East Africa’s most popular and best-known park, with easy access from Nairobi.
All this combines to make it sometimes seem as though the tourists here outnumber the animals. But I confess to a soft spot for the Mara – it was the first game park I ever visited, and I still remember the thrill of seeing my first lioness, spreadeagled royally in the middle of the road with a queue of safari vehicles lined up waiting for her to move on.

Ravi, just give me 2 hours notice and I will be ready with my bags to fly off to Kenya again. I loved the experience we had touring Kenya with you. Right from arranging my yellow card which I left in Mumbai by mistake to making sure I get Good Indian Vegetarian food, the trip was awesome. The animals, the beautiful videos, the interaction with masai tribes, it was out of the world. Magicarpet indeed took care of all the minutest logistics all through the trip. Based on a reference, I had an opportunity to visit Kenya with Magicarpet two years ago to Masai Mara and Nakuru. We stayed in very good hotels at Nairobi, Masai Mara and also at Nakuru. We could not have asked for better places of stay in all these places. The stay and food was very good. The Safari itself was really good and had plenty of photography opportunities. I still cherish the visit I made to Kenya. I look forward to another visit. We did the Kenya safari with Magic Carpet in Nov 2018. What a trip it was! Never imagined that this safari would allow us to see the animals in such large numbers in their natural habitat. As a busy surgeon, a passion for wildlife is something that I had kept in suspended animation for years. But with my children and wife onboard, we decided to take ten days off on what would turn out to be the best vacation I have had ( and I speak for my family as well). This is only partly due to the spectacular scenery, wildlife sightings and luxurious resorts. It is also partly because we had an extremely experienced guide, Ravi Hebballi, part owner of this company join us from Bangalore. From the moment we joined him at Bangalore airport to the time we parted company at exactly the same place ten days later, I didn't spend a moment thinking about logistics, plans and what could go wrong.
We were picked up at Nairobi by Patrick, who would be our driver, friend and guide (and sometimes philosopher) for nine days. As I realised later, he is also an amazing tracker. The next nine days was filled with an animal adventure like no other. Lions at their kill, a leopard stalking a water buck and failing, a cheetah stalking a fawn and succeeding (and reducing my daughter to tears) Cheetahs on trees and herbivores till the horizon.
In three days, between Masai Mara and Nakuru, we saw the big five (why the magnificent cheetah is not considered one of them, I cannot fathom). We ended in the lap of luxury - at Sopa Naivasha - a lakeside resort with giraffes literally eating out of your hand.
The standout thing here was how Ravi, your operator was a part of our group without being intrusive or overbearing regarding the timings. Between him and Patrick, they chose Safari routes and timings to suit my young family without depriving me of a couple of wild jungle rides when the kids and the missus cooled off in the pool. It didn't hurt that he is a dab hand at photography and taught me a few tricks.
All I can say is that I'm going right back again - as soon as I can take the time off!!!!

I did a week long trip to Kenya led by Dr Ravi Hebballi, a person who has a medical degree but spending significant time in Nature and wildlife photography and tours. Given that he is a photographer himself, he did a great job in organising the trip for a bunch of photographers. The whole trip was flawless and had some good memorable shots of the wildlife in Masai Mara and Nakuru. We got to stay in some of the best hotels in these places and the tour guides cum drivers belonging to Masai community were really good and went out of the way to get us some spectacular shots!
I hope I can go back soon for another great trip!

This moment was one of the greatest to have watched in my life with my Buddy Dr Ravi Hebballi & his partner Patrick at Masai Mara on Feb 8, 2020! What a roar of this King! Even more scintillating was when I learnt that The King doesn’t normally get intimate at all when it is having its killed prey & it was new even for Patrick & Ravi themselves!!!
How knowledgeable is Ravi Hebballi on animals & birds behaviour! He just spots an animal from some no-man’s land - without even having any single jeep around & he tells history, geography, physiology, etc etc stories about each animal & bird - that is extremely unbelievable!!! He is able to smell animals along with his friend Patrick from Kenya who is LEVEL 1 Tracker with SUPER KNOWLEDGE on cats!
When we were driving, Patrick suddenly stopped at one bushy area & said after smelling “there should be a lion” & he switched off the engine of the magnificent & super comfortable Land Cruiser owner by Ravi in Kenya! Yes, we could see a lion & a lioness sleeping & such a cute Cub playing on his dad! Wow!
The well stocked land cruiser with beer, soft drinks & water helped many vans when they got stuck in muddy roads at the middle of the forests! One of such accidents happened near this lion & his mate along with his brother! I am happy to share that photo of trucks & the bush where the brothers were there - just 20 feet away from this broke down jeep!
Such a sturdy jeep driven by such a good hearted, friendly & super experienced Patrick!
Can’t wait any longer to go back to Masai Mara! If you go to Safari, go with Ravi or don’t go at all!!!

The tour operators made sure we were all taken care of very well and we were safe all through the trip. We had some great sightings and our families and especially the kids enjoyed a lot. My daughter still remembers the resort in Masai Mara and the kids play area with the trampoline.
